Does an LTB Order appear on a Tenant’s credit report?
If an LTB Order confirms that a Tenant owes unpaid rent, a Housing Provider may be able to separately report the eligible debt through FrontLobby Debt Reporting, subject to applicable reporting requirements. Once reported, the unpaid rent may appear on the Tenant’s credit report and can be visible to future lenders and Housing Providers who obtain the appropriate credit report.
Landlords can also use Rent Reporting during an active tenancy to report rental payment information to the Credit Bureaus. This creates an ongoing rental tradeline and gives Tenants an added incentive to make rent a financial priority.
